It's time to dust off my passport and plan a spring break adventure to Europe, with Copenhagen and Paris as my culinary destinations. As a self-proclaimed foodie and someone who lived on croissants while studying abroad, I'm excited to delve into the vibrant dining scene in these cities and taste the flavors that have made them some of the best places to eat in the world. It's been around a year since my study abroad experience ended and I am excited to revisit some of my favorite spots in Paris and visit new ones.
Research, research, research - that's the name of the game. I've been scouring the internet, social media, and asking friends for recommendations, all in the pursuit of finding the best places to dine. From the quaint cafes to the Michelin-starred restaurants, I want to try it all. And that's where my list comes in. I've jotted down all the places that interest me and will now be doing some deeper research on each one to determine which restaurants I want to make reservations at.
One reservation that's already been made months in advance, you ask? Geranium, the number one restaurant in the world according to The World's 50 Best. I can hardly contain my excitement for this dining experience, which I know will be a highlight of my trip. And even though this reservation had to be made months in advance, it's well worth it for the chance to taste the innovative cuisine of Chef Rasmus Kofoed.
But with so many amazing restaurants to choose from, how do I narrow it down? For me, it's all about finding the perfect balance of food, atmosphere, and of course, price. As a college student, I want to make the most of my two-week trip and that includes splurging on some incredible meals, even if it means sacrificing a fancy hotel stay.
With my list in hand and my taste buds tingling, I can't wait to sit down at these charming bistros and chic cafes, sipping café au lait in the city of light, and savoring every bite. I'll be sure to report back on my foodie adventures in Paris and Copenhagen, but until then, bon appétit!
